NOTE: Dr. Andrews is not taking therapy clients at this time, but continues his work with K-State in Human Systems Consulting. The following information remains for your reference.

The primary therapist at Andrews & Associates, Rusty Andrews is married with three children and has lived in the Manhattan, Kansas area for over three decades. He received his PhD from Kansas State University in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1997 after earning his M.S. from K-State in 1994. He opened Andrews & Associates in June, 1998. He has earned the "Approved Supervisor" designation from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy as a clinical supervisor of therapists-in-training and supervisors-in-trianing.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Andrews has taught marriage and family therapy graduate classes at Kansas State Univeristy and at Friends University in both Kansas City and Wichita, Kansas. In 2006-2007 Dr. Andrews served as the interim director of the graduate programs in marriage and family therapy at Kansas State University while maintaining his private practice. He has served as the director of the Kansas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and is a popular speaker on such topics as human relationships, stress, change, and organizational development. Dr. Andrews has been listed in Who's Who in the Midwest as well as Who's Who in Entertainment.

Dr. Andrews' style of therapy is best described as eclectic. His work with clients draws heavily from the solution-focused, brief, and structural-strategic therapy models. He loves helping clients find answers to their problems. His work tends to be brief, although in some cases an extended therapeutic relationship is helpful. He believes that clients often want clear feedback from their therapist and he usually works in that manner.

Dr. Andrews also provides human systems consulting services, most notably to Kansas State University. In these services he helps employees resolve workplace relationship issues so they can work together more peacefully and productively. Dr. Andrews provides employee assistance programs to area businesses and serves the employees of those clients with psychotherapy services without charge to the employee. He also provides other business-related services such as executive coaching, both within his employee assistance programs and individually. Having over two decades of experience in the philanthropic community, Dr. Andrews also provides organizational and fund-raising consultation to not-for-profit organizations in the Midwest.
